Message From The VAC
In an effort to meet our promise to you from COLT, the Volunteer Advisory Committee (VAC) will be reporting regular updates within each edition of Inside Track. We hope you’ll appreciate the updates and look forward to continuing to interact with each of you in a variety of ways.
One of the goals of the VAC is to ensure that YOU, the volunteers, are an integral part of the continued success of PanCAN’s programs and initiatives. Since COLT, the VAC, along with Mark Edmiaston and several staff members, have been working diligently to advance the goals of the Community Engagement department while beginning to integrate more of the experience and expertise of the volunteers throughout the country. Recently, the VAC has established three task forces that align with our national community engagement priorities (a BIG thank you to our VAC Task Force Chairs and National Staff Partners):
PurpleStride Task Force

Mission Task Force
Chairs: Jenifer Rorech, Barb Geraghty, Aimee Sherman
National Staff Partners: Meaghan Slater, JoAnn Crank, Cassandra Clark
Volunteer Training Task Force
Chairs: Kathy Grayson, Danielle Gentry-Barth
National Staff Partner: Tammie Meena
The makeup of these task forces combines the leadership of the VAC members, the expertise from national staff and the invaluable experience of core role volunteers and community advocates from across the country.
This collaborative approach will produce stronger outcomes while affording volunteers from across the country the opportunity to contribute to the national mission and vision in a unique and tangible way.
Over the next few months, we look forward to sharing the progress and results of these task forces. The future is bright and we look forward to partnering with you as we WAGE HOPE in the fight against pancreatic cancer!
