In Conversation: PurpleStride 2024 Reflections from Cassandra Koprivetz

Hello PanCAN volunteers,

I hope this message finds you well and filled with the sense of pride and accomplishment that I feel as I reflect on our recent monumental achievement. With hearts full of gratitude, I extend my deepest thanks to you for your unwavering dedication and tireless efforts in making PanCAN PurpleStride 2024 such a resounding success.

Together, we accomplished something truly remarkable. You orchestrated nearly 60 events across the country on a single day, rallying an incredible 62,500 participants and raising over $16.2 million and counting for essential research and vital programs like free support, information, and resources from PanCAN Patient Services.

From the moment we launched our websites in September, you all poured your hearts into these events. You recruited volunteers, welcomed Team Captains, forged new corporate partnerships, coached participants on fundraising strategies, and made countless phone calls. You navigated unforeseen challenges and weather-related issues with grace and resilience, all while ensuring the experience for participants was top-notch.

The pictures captured, the stories shared, and the connections made at PurpleStride speak volumes about the profound difference you’ve made in the lives of those affected by pancreatic cancer. While attending PurpleStride Los Angeles, I was moved beyond words by the special survivor area and the meaningful bonds formed among survivors, caregivers, friends, family members, and medical professionals. It left a lasting impact on me – and it was all made possible by YOU.

You have not only raised vital funds but have also brought hope, comfort, and joy to countless individuals and families. Together, we are making a difference – one event, one life at a time.
